Just a few days after their much postponed pre-wedding session I was back in Geneva for Raegan and Glenn’s lakeside wedding at the Château de Coudrée on the banks of Lake Geneva. The weather gods were still smiling on us and their dream outdoor wedding with the lake as a backdrop, was waiting to come true.The wedding party was a flurry of activity, with people darting around finding room keys, organising flowers and table decorations, sound systems and photo booths. The whole day was a major group effort and it was lovely to see how happily and easily the couple’s international group of friends bonded together to make everything come together.
Meanwhile, locked away in her room and itching to know what was going on outside, the bride sipped Mimosas while her bridesmaids had their hair and make up done. The atmosphere was very relaxed and insured that we were fashionably behind on timings, but the guests enjoyed a pre-ceremony apéro while the finishing touches were made to the stunning bride and she readied herself for her grand entrance.
The Château de Coudrée is perfectly located for an outdoor wedding, right on the shores of the lake with the mountains feathering out to either side, and the girls made the most of their entrance choosing to walk the length of the lawn in the sunshine then following the arrows to Raegan’s ‘Happily Ever After’.
The ceremony was short but full of personal elements and overseen by the groom’s father. Wonderfully relaxed with guests still enjoying their drinks and many jokes and laughter, it was clear to see that this was very much a celebration of two people who were meant to be together.
After a few party games and some photographs in the castle gardens, the guests were treated to some opera in the courtyard before heading inside to dinner in the great hall with moving speeches, the groom’s quiz and an open-mic topped off by the bride’s speech. As the DJ started up and the photobooth costume box was raided we could tell that the party was only just getting started and left them to the dancing, dungeon after party and after party after party!
Raegan and Glenn, thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer and for all the trust that you put in me. It was great fun to spend such a fabulous day with you and I wish you a long and happy life together.
