As you turn through the forest above Aigle there the castle suddenly appears. Nestling in the vineyards it sits gently in the landscape with its turrets pointing skywards and its flags rippling in the wind. For Sophie, this view would mark the beginning of two wonderful days with friends and family. The first time she and Rob saw the castle it was from here, and it will be the first thing they will see when they open their wedding album.
In the intimate Salle des Mariages at the Chateau d’Aigle, everyone crowded in to witness Sophie and Rob make their promises to each other as the sun shone in through the windows. After a few photos around the castle we all headed to the Abbaye de Salaz for a perfect apéro on a summer’s evening complete with Alpine horns and cheese!
After spending Swiss National Day dancing on tables, it was only fitting that Rob and Sophie showed me some of their moves as we explored the beautiful gardens of the Abbaye. And we left them to party into the night and prepare for the church blessing in Gryon the next day.
