Like so many days this spring our first scheduled shoot date for Valérie and Grég’s pre-wedding shoot had to be cancelled because of the unseasonal snow in both Villars and Château d’Oex. But in the end we were rewarded with a gorgeous sunny day and the mountains looking at their very best. We started by checking out the potential ‘First Look’ locations for Valérie and Grég’s wedding day, this is a great opportunity for them to spend time together alone on their special day and leaves the rest of the day free to spend time with friends and family. The first stop was a stunning viewpoint over the valley which made some lovely early evening shots. Our second stop was the banks of the Sarine, a favourite spot for summer barbecues. It was idyllic, with gorgeous soft lighting in the shade perfect for a few portraits and the chance to get silly and comfortable in front of the camera, so that the only nerves on the wedding day are the good kind.
Remember that if you would like spectacular mountain or lake views these shots need to be taken a couple of hours before sunset (or just after sunrise!).
