The rumour was that Michael bounced out of bed, full of excited energy. Corinne described the feeling perfectly: it was like the moment before a race, nerves yes but excitement about what was to come!
Chilling out in the Aveda salon at the Lausanne Palace Spa, sipping champagne with Judi and Rachelle, Corinne was savouring every moment – while, by all accounts, Michael was bouncing around the Villa Lavaux in Grandvaux.
We had a mini first look at the Villa before enjoying the view and heading off to the Château d’Oron for some portraits in the historic apartments. Happy to play taxi driver, I tried hard not to fight with the GPS and not to lose everyone!
We were led around the gorgeous rooms of the château and picked a couple to shoot some first portraits of the stunning couple, we even had a preview of their first dance waltz.
As the guests began to arrive we headed down to the ceremony room, leaving Corinne in peace for a few moments. Accompanied by the incredibly talented Lenzin Brothers, and readings in German, English and French, the formalities were very personal and full of joy. Exiting to many bubbles on the castle’s bridge the new Mr & Mrs greeted their guests fondly and enjoyed a summer’s evening apéro.
It was lovely to be able to take some evening shots of Corinne and Michael, just before dinner, the beautiful light gave this moment (almost) alone together a feerique romance befitting Corinne’s dress and a little breather to appreciate the moment.
At dinner we set up the photo booth with amazing props from Rachelle and Philip resulting in lots of fun scenes being created by their friends and family. A favourite among the games and speeches was a ‘Beauty and the Geek’ with the Beauties showing that brains can be beautiful too! After waltzing among sparklers for their first dance, I left them spinning around the dance floor under the stars and a bright full moon.
Corinne and Michael, it has been a pleasure getting to know you and to be a part of your special day together, I can’t wait to share your incredible ‘Rock the Dress’ session – it’s so incredible!
