What could be more fun as a one-year-old baby girl than to have a whole chocolate cake to yourself to smash and squidge? Which is why I was delighted when Usha decided to add a cake smash to little Micah’s first birthday shoot. Nearly a year to the day after her newborn shoot we packed up our picnic and headed down to the lake to find a spot where we could make lots of mess and celebrate the end of a year in the life of Micah.
With all my multiple shoots I love to show how your children change over the course of the year. It was so lovely to see Micah interacting with her parents and brother, trying to walk on her own and playing with her new trottinette – just like her big brother! Usha had brought lots of cute outfits which gave us a wonderful variety of shots and when it came to the big smash, Micah was kitted out perfectly. Such a dainty lady already, it took a little convincing by everyone before she got really stuck in, but just look at that grin.
