Probably the last thing you need just days before your wedding is a summer cold, but inevitably it’s the moment we stop rushing around and get ready to enjoy some summer sun – finally! – that life catches up with us. So poorly Raegan was a complete trooper to make it out to her much postponed pre-wedding shoot in the Jardins botanique in Geneva. We’d chosen the spot not only because of the beautiful gardens but also because we could hide in the greenhouses if there was another sudden summer storm. But despite the black clouds rushing overhead we got lucky and the sun shined on us while the wind blew all the bad weather to somewhere else Strolling around the Jardins alpin we were spoiled for choice but finding the right light in the ever-changing lighting conditions was paramount. I like to have a variety of different kinds of light for pre-wedding photo shoots because it allows a couple to choose their favourite style and means we can get more pictures that they will love on the wedding day.
Heading to the carousel, Raegan told me that on the day they were engaged they saw dolphins in the ocean so we made sure to include some in the background before checking out the stripy deck chairs in the sandy beach area.
In order to get Raegan back to a bowl of her mum’s chicken soup in the quickest possible time, we kept the session short and sweet but even in just an hour we were able to get some wonderful images of the two of them enjoying a calm moment before heading back to final wedding planning details and a very international group of friends and family.
