I always get to the winter and think, ah! a bit of breathing space – yet it never quite works out that way. So I can’t believe that it is already April and I am only just bringing you little Henry’s Christmas newborn photography session. Stéphanie has to be one of my favourite clients; her creative style and attention to detail were already evident in her maternity and baby shower shoots. Even after being rushed to the maternity ward a little unexpectedly, everything was perfect for little Henry.
During the newborn shoot, I spent some time in between feeds to make sure that I captured the love and care she had put into his nursery and concentrated on portraits of Henry as dad couldn’t be with us. A newborn photo shoot usually comprises two parts: portraits & lifestyle. I do, on occasion suggest a second family shoot though if the timings don’t work, and Stéphanie opted for a 3 month session to document their new family. For this shoot we worked with Henry, making sure that he was happy and comfortable at all times. Sometimes this means taking a break for feeding or just a cuddle with mum because, as with all photo shoots, the best images happen when everyone is happy and relaxed.
So, here is little Henry and his beautiful nursery.
It is so important to schedule a newborn session for the first two weeks after birth that I recommend booking before you are 6 months pregnant.
