Ouchy Pre-Wedding Shoot: Getting to Know Your Photographer
Denisa and Lukas booked me to photograph their wedding at the Schloss Münchenwiler in Fribourg. Their booking came quite late, so we didn’t have much time for a separate consultation and pre-wedding shoot. Instead, we combined the two in an Ouchy pre-wedding shoot by Lake Geneva.
The main aim of this session was to get to know one another. Over coffee, we chatted about their wedding details and the type of photos they hoped for. Like many couples, Denisa and Lukas felt nervous in front of the camera. This relaxed shoot gave me the chance to guide them gently through my process. Sometimes I explain exactly what I’m looking for, other times I keep shooting naturally and show the results. For them, a mix of both worked best: I gave a few simple directions, then encouraged them to laugh, move, and be themselves.
Even though there was no pressure on these photos, they ended up loving the results. The carefree energy of the shoot, paired with the moody backdrop of Lake Geneva, gave them a set of unique images that they will treasure.
An Evocative Photo Shoot
A storm was brewing the day of our Ouchy pre-wedding shoot. Dark skies gathered over the lake, and the wind whipped around us as we sipped coffee at the Château d’Ouchy. With only a few weeks left before their wedding, this was the only time we could meet. Rain or shine, I was determined to capture their connection.
We braved the weather—and it paid off. The dramatic skies, crashing waves, and rushing wind added a powerful atmosphere to their photos. Denisa and Lukas’ natural energy matched the setting perfectly. Once they realised I wasn’t asking for stiff poses or forced smiles, they relaxed into the experience. Their personalities shone through as we wandered the Château grounds, laughing and experimenting with fun prompts. In just 45 minutes, we created a gallery full of movement, vitality, and authentic moments.
