Coppet Engagement Shoot | Mélanie & Grégoire

Pregnant couple by lake

A Coppet Engagement Shoot

I had been watching the Landi weather website for days, hoping that the rain would disappear for Mélanie and Grégoire’s Coppet engagement shoot at the beautiful Château de Coppet on Lake Geneva. Everything crossed, I set out with my trusty assistant, and we were lucky — the rain held off, leaving us with soft, moody light and a few dramatic clouds rolling over the lake.

Mélanie and Grégoire’s story is as beautiful as the setting. They got engaged in Japan and discovered the very next day that they were expecting their first baby. This made their session extra special — a pre-wedding and maternity shoot combined! Mélanie looked radiant, her bright pink scarf adding a pop of colour against the winter tones, while Grégoire’s easy smile said it all. The love and excitement between them were infectious.

Why Every Couple Should Have a Pre-Wedding Shoot

Even though their wedding was only two weeks away, I insisted they still do a Coppet engagement shoot. Many couples wonder whether it’s worth it so close to the big day — and the answer is absolutely yes!

A pre-wedding session gives you a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera. Most couples haven’t had professional photos taken together before, so learning how to move, stand, and interact naturally makes a big difference. We go through poses, try a few candid prompts, and find what feels right for you both. By the time your wedding day arrives, you’ll already know how it feels to be photographed, which means less stress and more time to enjoy each other.

It’s also a great opportunity for us to connect. I get to see how you interact, and you get used to my style and direction. When I show up on your wedding day, I’m not just a stranger with a camera — I’m someone you know and trust.

The Magic of Château de Coppet

Château de Coppet never disappoints. The elegant tree-lined paths, timeless architecture, and lakeside views create a romantic backdrop for any engagement shoot. Mélanie and Grégoire strolled hand-in-hand through the park, shared quiet moments by the water, and even stopped for a cosy break surrounded by spring flowers and rustic charm. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of warmth — exactly what a pre-wedding shoot should be.

A Perfect Prelude to the Wedding

As we wrapped up by the lakeside, the light softened beautifully, reflecting off the still water. It was one of those moments that remind me why I love photographing couples — the calm before the whirlwind of the wedding day. I can’t wait to capture their oriental-themed celebration at the Château, hopefully with a few Japanese blossoms to match their story.

If you’re planning your own wedding, consider a Coppet engagement shoot. It’s not just about the photos — it’s about creating memories, building confidence, and celebrating your love story in a stunning location. Get in touch to book a session.
