Stories by the Lake – 6-Month Baby Photos in Lutry

This sweet photograph of little Winston at six months old captures a beautiful family moment by Lac Léman in Lutry. I love how it shows him sitting with his parents, completely absorbed in turning the pages of his book. My Baby’s First Year sessions are some of my favourites because they celebrate all the wonderful changes that happen in this first year of life. By the six-month mark, babies are curious, expressive, and full of personality — and Winston was no exception. His sparkling eyes and joyful concentration made for the perfect 6-month baby photos in Lutry.

The Story

I always think it’s important for children of all ages to have something to do during their photoshoot. Simply standing and smiling for the camera can feel unnatural, especially for little ones. For Winston’s 6-month baby photoshoot in Lutry, we spent some time exploring the lakeside and then settled down on a blanket to play and read.

Both Mum and Dad were happy to join in, reading aloud and laughing as Winston focused on turning the pages. True to his age, he was more fascinated by the motion of the book than the story itself! These moments are exactly what I love to capture — not just the classic “everyone-looking-at-the-camera” photo, but the real, tender interactions that make a family unique. When I look back through my own childhood albums, it’s the playful, imperfect moments that bring back the strongest memories.
