Besotted with Baby – Vevey Newborn Photos
I feel honoured every time I’m invited into a home to capture the first days of a baby’s life. I especially love newborn photo shoots in Vevey when parents are so besotted with their little one that their joy fills the room.
This shoot was a baby shower gift from Ayeska’s friends. It included a beautiful Storybook photo album. We hadn’t met before, but she had seen family photos I had taken for some of her friends in Vevey. She already knew my style.
I focus on natural moments, not overly posed or accessorised portraits. My clients appreciate this approach. While I can photograph any style, my talent and passion shine when I capture authentic connections.
FAthers and Daughters
One highlight of this Vevey newborn photo session was the father-and-daughter portraits. X’s dad was completely charmed. He could have spent the whole day watching her sleep.
During a newborn shoot, I photograph the whole family, baby portraits, and moments with each parent. I love to have dads hold their newborns on their legs. It feels natural, like those quiet moments when mum rests.
I often place tiny baby feet in big dad hands. One of my favourite shots from this session was dad kissing his daughter’s feet. His expression said everything.
Capturing Your Home and Your Family
Ayeska’s apartment in Vevey was perfect for newborn photography. Large windows filled the space with soft light. I kept flash to a minimum, which is ideal for delicate newborn eyes.
The home had beautiful details that gave me many creative angles without moving much around. Since we were shooting for an album, I also photographed the nursery and living room. These details make your album personal and timeless.
To prepare for newborn photos at home in Vevey, I suggest tidying the spaces where we will shoot. Fresh flowers, often gifted to new mums, add a lovely pop of colour. The main bedroom, balcony, or garden also make wonderful spots for family portraits. A variety of settings creates a beautiful record of this special time together.
