Christmas Newborn Photos in Vevey
Christmas is a magical time for a family to welcome a new baby into the world. Christmas newborn photos can beautifully blend the joy of the season with the emotion of those early days. For Olivia, just 9 days old at the time of her session in Vevey, we wanted to create an image that felt festive without overwhelming her tiny features. Rather than placing her in oversized costumes, this photograph focuses on a father’s pure love while still giving a gentle nod to the holidays.

The sparkle of the season creates a wonderful opportunity to capture memories that will be cherished every year when the decorations come out again. The Story
We had already photographed some natural family portraits, peaceful moments in the nursery, and lifestyle images of little Olivia snuggled in her parents’ arms. Then Mum asked if we could finish the session with a Santa outfit she had chosen for her daughter.
Luckily, we had just wrapped up some semi-nude portraits, so changing into her onesie and then the costume was quick and comfortable. Planning ahead is always helpful for Christmas newborn photos, since frequent outfit changes can unsettle babies. But Olivia fed well and was wonderfully sleepy, ready for more photos.
As expected after a change, she needed a cuddle to settle again. While Dad rocked her gently, we paused to adjust the supports for her next portrait. Then I noticed the moment: Dad’s protective hand cradling her against his chest, a soft frame of Christmas green surrounding them. I stepped into position and quietly captured the image before he even realised the camera was up. A tender, natural moment—full of festive warmth—became one of my favourite Christmas newborn photos.
