For this Lausanne spring maternity shoot, we chose a peaceful lakeside location framed by a graceful weeping willow and a magnolia tree in full flower. As a result, the setting felt calm, romantic, and perfectly suited to this quiet moment of anticipation.
From the very start, the couple settled easily into the space. The gentle movement of the willow branches above them created a natural canopy, while the lake reflected soft morning light back onto the scene. Consequently, every frame carried a sense of stillness and connection.
A Quiet Moment Beneath the Weeping Willow
We began the session by the water, where the couple sat together on the edge of the stone wall, tucked beneath the sweeping lines of the weeping willow. Here, the focus stayed on closeness and touch. He wrapped his arms around her, and she rested comfortably against him, hands cradling her growing bump.
Because this area was quiet and shaded, it allowed them to slow down and simply enjoy being present together. In turn, their expressions stayed natural and unforced. These are the moments that always tell the strongest story.

Next, we shifted slightly along the lake to capture individual portraits of the expectant mother. With sunlight filtering through the leaves and reflecting off the water, the light felt soft and flattering without being overpowering.
