Lutry Summer Family Photo Shoot | Lake Geneva and Its Vineyards
Gemma and Ben booked me for a Lutry summer family photo shoot. The lakeside location held a special meaning to them, as it was where they were married. Years ago, I had photographed their wedding portraits in Lutry, so returning with their daughter felt like a beautiful full circle moment.
A Family Photo Shoot in Lutry
The family were on a surprise birthday mini-break for dad, revisiting Lutry four years after their wedding. Gemma wanted her daughter to experience the places that, until now, she had only seen in photos. She also wished to capture family portraits in the exact spots where their wedding pictures had been taken. The idea was to blend past and present memories into one collection.
For this Lutry summer family photo shoot, Gemma chose my files collection package. She could select the number of images she wanted after the session, with both colour and black & white downloads available. Prints could be added on later, giving her full flexibility.
A Summer Morning by Lake Geneva
We met early on a bright Sunday morning. Because the family were only in town for a short visit, I had reserved the day to allow for any weather changes. The calm summer light and fresh energy of little Joséphine made it the perfect time for portraits.
We began at the old port, one of the places where Gemma and Ben had posed for their wedding photos. I had reviewed their wedding gallery beforehand and came prepared with a few ideas. Still, I prefer natural joy over stiff poses—especially with children. Joséphine’s playful energy brought the images to life as she ran along the harbour, balanced on walls, and played hide and seek. We even managed to recreate one of Gemma’s favourite wedding shots before Joséphine dashed off on her next adventure.
Among the Vineyards of Lutry
After the lake, we moved into the vineyards of Domaine du Daley, the venue of their wedding reception. With Lake Geneva sparkling in the background, the family enjoyed a quick snack before exploring the vines. The morning light highlighted the landscape beautifully.
Joséphine danced with her mum, ran between the vines, and later helped me take photos of her parents. I love involving children in photography—it makes the experience more engaging and fun for everyone.
Reliving Memories Through Photography
This Lutry summer family photo shoot allowed Gemma and Ben to relive the most meaningful places from their wedding day while creating new memories with their daughter. Gemma chose 25 favourite images, which I delivered in both colour and black & white.
